Pilot Flight Tracker – Privacy Policy
August 19, 2026
Introduction
Pilot Flight Tracker (click here to open applications page) (“the App”) is developed by NIKOLA KAVEČAN PR, AGENCIJA ZA PROJEKTOVANJE I IZRADU KOMPJUTERSKIH PROGRAMA FALCON-TECH, NOVI SAD, Serbia (“we”, “us”, “Falcon-Tech”). This privacy policy explains how we handle your data.
Data We Collect
The App collects the following data locally on your device only:
- GPS location data – latitude, longitude, altitude, speed, and heading during active flight tracking sessions
- Flight session data – aircraft type, registration, airfield name, timestamps, and flight statistics
- Weather data – METAR information fetched from public aviation weather services when you enter an ICAO airfield code
How We Use Your Data
Your flight tracking data (GPS coordinates, flight sessions, aircraft details) is stored locally on your device in an SQLite database. We do not transmit, collect, or store this flight data on our servers. The App does not have user accounts, cloud storage, or any server-side component for flight data in the current version.
Separately, we use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (Google services) to understand how the App is used and to diagnose technical issues. This involves transmitting limited, non-flight-related data to Google’s servers — see “Analytics and Crash Reporting” below.
Third-Party Services
- OpenStreetMap – Map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap servers. Your approximate location is visible to OpenStreetMap through tile requests. See OSM Privacy Policy.
- Aviation Weather Center (aviationweather.gov) – METAR data is fetched from this US government service. Only the ICAO airport code you enter is sent; no personal data is transmitted.
- Firebase (Google) – Used for anonymized analytics and crash reporting. See “Analytics and Crash Reporting” above and Google’s Privacy Policy.
Analytics and Crash Reporting
We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, services provided by Google Ireland Limited, to collect anonymized usage statistics and crash diagnostics. This may include:
- Device information (model, operating system version, language settings)
- App usage events (e.g., app opens, flights logged, export format used) — these events do not include your GPS coordinates or flight tracks
- Approximate location, derived from your IP address (typically city or region level, not precise GPS coordinates)
- Crash logs and technical diagnostics if the App encounters an error
This data is pseudonymous and is not linked to your name, email, or flight logbook data. It is processed by Google in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy and Firebase’s data processing terms. We use this data solely to improve App stability and understand aggregate usage patterns — we do not use it to identify individual users.
Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, or transmit any of your data to third parties. When you use the export/share feature (KML, GPX, CSV, XLSX), you control where the exported file is sent through your device’s share menu.
Data Storage and Deletion
Flight tracking data is stored on your device. You can delete individual flight sessions within the App, or delete all flight data by uninstalling the App. We have no ability to access or recover this data.
Analytics and crash data processed through Firebase is retained by Google according to their data retention policies (typically 14 months for Analytics). You may request deletion of this data by contacting us at apps@falcon-tech.rs.
Permissions
- Location (GPS) – Required for flight tracking. Used only during active tracking sessions.
- Internet – Required for loading map tiles and fetching METAR weather data.
- Foreground Service – Required to continue GPS tracking when the screen is off during a flight.
Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
