Pilot Flight Tracker – Privacy Policy

Introduction

Pilot Flight Tracker (“the App”) is developed by NIKOLA KAVEČAN PR, AGENCIJA ZA PROJEKTOVANJE I IZRADU KOMPJUTERSKIH PROGRAMA FALCON-TECH, NOVI SAD, Serbia (“we”, “us”, “Falcon-Tech”). This privacy policy explains how we handle your data.

Data We Collect

The App collects the following data locally on your device only:

  • GPS location data – latitude, longitude, altitude, speed, and heading during active flight tracking sessions
  • Flight session data – aircraft type, registration, airfield name, timestamps, and flight statistics
  • Weather data – METAR information fetched from public aviation weather services when you enter an ICAO airfield code

How We Use Your Data

All data is stored locally on your device in an SQLite database. We do not transmit, collect, or store any of your personal data on our servers. The App does not have user accounts, cloud storage, or any server-side component in the current version.

Third-Party Services

  • OpenStreetMap – Map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap servers. Your approximate location is visible to OpenStreetMap through tile requests. See OSM Privacy Policy.
  • Aviation Weather Center (aviationweather.gov) – METAR data is fetched from this US government service. Only the ICAO airport code you enter is sent; no personal data is transmitted.

Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, or transmit any of your data to third parties. When you use the export/share feature (KML, GPX, CSV, XLSX), you control where the exported file is sent through your device’s share menu.

Data Storage and Deletion

All data is stored on your device. You can delete individual flight sessions within the App, or delete all data by uninstalling the App. We have no ability to access or recover your data.

Permissions

  • Location (GPS) – Required for flight tracking. Used only during active tracking sessions.
  • Internet – Required for loading map tiles and fetching METAR weather data.
  • Foreground Service – Required to continue GPS tracking when the screen is off during a flight.

Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when new features are added (such as cloud sync). Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
